John Eaton is a British author and lyricist whose work spans children’s books, poetry, comic crime fiction and musical satire. He is the creator of the Spid the Spider series, several collections of humorous verse and also the author of Murder at Cranborne Abbey, the first Chipp and Pinn novel. His music has streamed over 15 million times worldwide. Spid’s stories are based on John’s early life. As one of eight children growing up on a council estate he did not aspire to higher purpose, and on leaving school he did not know what, if anything, he would be good at. Though working in healthcare led him overseas and then to establish a successful business. John’s work is inspired by the punishment, pathos and humorous proclamations encountered in his day job. He also remains passionate about the English language and encouraging literacy.
