The ancient Grecians used pots as storage and transport vessels. They were used to store foodstuffs, drinks, oils, perfumes and cosmetics. A vast amount of pottery remains today due to the relative durability of the materials and archaeological record. Created and made from clay they were typically very highly decorated.
