If your children are feeling a little blue, our kids healthy mindset challenge is for you! So here are five activities to do with your children over the next four weeks.  Comprising a range of physical and mental challenges, they are designed to lift kids out of the day-to-day, refresh and de-stress their minds. Do these activities at the start of a new year, school holiday or term.

In particular, read together, as this offers a whole range of benefits including:

  • exercising brains
  • improving concentration
  • enriching vocabulary
  • improving writing skills
  • developing creativity
  • family bonding

It’s also the stuff memories are made of! Start with Spid the Spider Welcomes in the New Year. In the story, Spid is feeling a little blue but then decides to do something about it.  So he stumbles on the art of zen … and eventually all ends well and in more ways that he could imagine.

Spid’s stories are designed to enable mums, dads, and teachers to invest lots of creative licence when reading to, and with children. This helps stimulate and engage as well as make reading together lots of fun.

Watch out for signs that your child is mentally unhealthy too and seek professional help if you are worried. A problem shared is a problem halved.
