Magic Money Tree Game!

Get ready to learn numbers and words, practice maths, and have lots of fun picking and placing notes in Spid’s Magic Money Tree Game! As Spid learns a little financial responsibility in Spid the Spider Grows a Magic Money Tree you can help your children learn too!

What You’ll Need:

• First, download and print the Money Tree Notes on paper or stiff card.
• Cut out all 28 notes carefully (ask an adult if you need help).

Each note has a number and a word (like one:1 or 2:two).

How to Play our Magic Money Tree Game:

Set up your game:

• Mix up all the notes and place them face down on the table.

2. Decide who starts:

• Everyone picks up one note. Add the two numbers on your note together.
• The person with the highest total goes first! If there’s a tie, pick again.
• Play moves clockwise around the table.

3. Number of players:

• The game is great for 2, 3, or 4 players!

4. Share the notes:

• Take turns picking notes from the Money Tree until they are all gone.
• If there are leftover notes, the first one is turned over to become the starting note, and any others are put aside face down.

5. Time to play:

• Players take turns placing a note that matches one already on the table. Match by number or word!
  Example: If the note is three:3, you can play any note with three or 3.
• If you can’t play, you have to pass (skip your turn).

6. Winning the round:

• The goal is to be the first to place all your notes on the table! 🎉
• If no one can play and the game is stuck, count the value of the notes you have left. The player with the lowest total wins.

7. Scoring:

• The winner of the round earns 10 Money Tree Notes as a prize!
• Everyone else loses points equal to the total value of their leftover notes.
