Malcolm X (born Malcolm Little, later el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz (b. 1925, d. 1965) was an American Muslim minister. He was also a civil rights activist and black empowerment leader. Assasinated by gunshot, he is widely celebrated within African-American and Muslim American communities for his pursuit of racial justice. He was posthumously honored with Malcolm X Day.
