A mind map is a diagram in which information is presented visually, usually with a central idea and other ideas arranged around it.

It is an easy way to brainstorm and write down ideas without worrying about order and structure. It allows you to visually structure ideas to aid analysis and recall. In other words, it is a stepping stone or pre-planning tool to write stories or essays, answer questions or prepare for exams!
After reading Spid the Spider Meets Hamish McSpid, download our free Water King mind map. Then ask your children to write down everything they have learned about The Water King.
You can then go onto ask them to write and short story about the Water King and then draw conclusions from what they have learned.
On the second page of the download, we’ve written some key facts about the Water King based on Spid’s adventure.
Learning mind mapping is a valuable life skill and will make children’s learning easier!
