This pre-reading motivation assessment is designed to benchmark children’s attitudes to reading, learning and their hopes in life before reading books.

Comprising just one page it is easy and quick for children to complete though you may wish to work through an example with them.

Used together with the post-reading assessment, you’ll be able to assess the degree to which their attitudes change over time.
